Media Lab showcases the work and ideas of the Media & Communications discipline at the University of Sydney — one of Australia’s leading centres for the study of media, journalism, and communication.
We bring together two things: the best work produced by our students, and the public conversations that define our field. The Student Showcase presents outstanding work across writing, audio, video, social media, games, and mixed reality. The Media@Sydney lecture series hosts leading scholars, journalists, and practitioners from Australia and around the world.
Media & Communications at Sydney has long been a place where critical inquiry and creative practice go hand in hand. Our researchers work across digital media transformations, journalism studies, political communication, media activism and social movements, media political economy and policy, and health communication. Media Lab reflects that breadth — and makes it visible.
Whether you’re a current student, a prospective applicant, an academic colleague, or someone who cares about the future of media, you’re welcome here.
